I am a lay member of the Teresian Carmelite Order. I was a nurse and social worker. In 1987, while on a birdwatching holiday in Norfolk, I visited Walsingham. I sat in the replica of the Holy House in the Anglican shrine and spoke to Our Lady. To my astonishment she spoke to me- in my spirit. Being a bit shaken I sought the advice of the priest in charge who reassured me that this was genuine.
I had had deep spiritual pain for a long time. She told me that I had a terrible wound (spiritual) that had affected my whole spiritual self and that she would pray for me. She told me to give myself to Our Lord in faith and trust. She said,” Let me be a Mother to you.”
I entered the Roman Catholic church in 1997, became a lay member of the Teresian Carmelite order and went to Lourdes in 2007. I asked my loving Mother to take this awful pain away and she did! I could not even remember what it was like.
I love Classical music! J.S. Bach, Rachmaninov, Chopin, Vaughan Williams, Faure, Debussy, Glazunov and more. I love Classical ballet- Swan lake, Sleeping Beauty. Opera- Tosca, La Traviata. Choral music- the St. John Passion, Handel’s Messiah, Brahm’s Requiem. I love country walks, the scent of flowers- especially the exquisite perfume of the old rose varieties. And I love cats, dogs and donkeys! I adopted my donkey Mistletoe, along with others, to keep her in food, dental and foot care so that she is comfortable in retirement. Safe Haven for donkeys in the Holy Land is the charity. They work in Gaza, the West Bank, the brick kilns in Egypt keeping donkeys well, healing wounds, educating owners how to care for them. Wonderful!
I hope that you find the book loving and peaceful. I really did heal in spirit, I did transform into love and peace of soul.
God loves each one of us, as we are now, and wants to help us on our journey in life, through good and bad times. A true friend- I know it!
This is about Love, Beauty, God and the soul. The jewels are spiritual insights given, through these inspired poems, into God, Jesus, and Mary, the Mother of God and are a ‘a spiritual journey of transformation’. I have also recorded them as an audio book. They come alive and I am told that the recording is peaceful and comforting.
In this revised version of the written book there is a new poem at the end which completes the journey of ‘The Jewels’. This is not on the audio which was published before this.
